Not-Quite-MylesDay 2017

March 11, 2017 § Leave a comment

As all MylesDay fans know, this celebration of the life and works of Flann O’Brien/Myles na gCopaleen/Brian O’Nolan traditionally has been held annually on April 1st, in the Palace Bar on Fleet Street.

This year, the date has been shifted to SUNDAY 2nd APRIL.  The reasons? Many & complex, but suffice it to say they involve international rugby syndicates taking their revenge on Myles for the opprobrium he heaped on that minority sport over the years.

For those who need the details of why the date has been changed, they can be found here, in the Irish Times.

Nothing else changes.

The location, as ever, is the back parlour of the Palace Bar on Fleet Street, Dublin 2.

The start time is 3:00pm on Sunday 2nd April, with the event likely to run until at least 6:00pm.  Or until our vast collection of Mylesian material is exhausted.

The admission if free, but seasoned veterans of MylesDay will know to arrive early to guarantee seating.

For those who are not adverse to change, we look forward to seeing you in the Palace Bar.

And once again, please note it’s April 2nd!

Where Am I?
