Has it been a whole year already? Or is MylesDay being celebrated more frequently?
Despite the feeling that it could not have been a full year since we last invested an afternoon in celebrating the Life & Works of the great Flann O’Brien, it is only the vividness of the memories that makes it appear more recent.
It has in fact been the full year.
And now MylesDay is back for 2016.
Usual date (April 1st), usual venue (Palace Bar, Fleet Street, Dublin Town), usual time (starting at 3:00pm, and running for multiple hours…), usual entrance fee (free).
And an unusually fine roster of enthusiastic Flannoracs & Myles Men, all dedicated to creating an excellent afternoon’s celebration of the life and works of Flann O’Brien.
There will be readings, performances, even a song or two, all from or inspired by Myles.
Or just relax with a Pint of Plain, and soak up the atmosphere.
The 1st April falls on a Friday this year, so most of you will probably be in a bar at 3:00 in the afternoon anyway. Which means there’s no excuse not to come along.
Get that date in your diary now.
