Our Service Explained

February 21, 2011 § 1 Comment

Welcome to Mylesday, an online forum in which ideas for celebration of the centenary of the late Myles na Gopaleen will be thoroughly researched before being roundly ridiculed.

For example, did you know that April 1st is nearly the centenary of Myles’s birth? It isn’t but it nearly is. D’you follow me?

Why should that hop-off-me-thumb James Joyce get a day of his own?  Wasn’t he born in Wickla, and ended his days as a publican in Skerries?  And as for that stuff he wrote in-between.  The Plain People of Ireland demand recognition for one of their own, Myles na Gopaleen.

Mylesday will be held on the 1st April 2011, in the Palace Bar, Fleet Street, Dublin.  A glittering selection of stars from stage, screen and literature (all yet to be contacted, confirmed & announced) will be there, to entertain the Plain People of Ireland with their favourite selections from the works of The Master.

Welcome to Mylesday.
